1987 Ford Diesel
1987 Ford Diesel
I was assembled in 1987, Put into service as a Seattle Metro bus with a Handicap Lift. After retiring from the Seattle fleet I was picked up by the Summit Retirement Home in Bellingham and cruised the Bingo circuit. They ended up buying a new bus and neglected me on the back lot as a backup for years until a nice contractor bought me and used as a tool hauler on Lummi Island. Later he moved me with his family to Mazama in in the Methow Valley. In 2007 I was purchased by a guy with the intent to use me for a Burning Man transport ( the most fun you've ever had in a vacuum cleaner bag! ) Now I sport a kitchen with running water and a fridge, a roll top desk, cool Harold banners, numerous work from local and BM artists, a spiffy interior lighting scheme and sound system, an overhead video projection system for intimate film screenings, all powered by 180 watts of solar panels and 3 deep cycle batteries and the occasional tank of Bio diesel in the main engine. I've made a lot of friends with my new make over and love taking people out for a good time! So far my typical passenger load is very eclectic with ages from 6 months to over 80 and everyone seems to smile a lot and have a great time.
